Our History

The Troubadour was formed in early 1999 when Cec and Frank met at a local bush dance. The original aim of the group was to learn traditional music to cater for the monthly bush dance as a house band. After a few attempts at playing music in a small group, it soon came clear that there was a passion to play more than dance music. Our first folk clubCec, Frank and Marilyn started going to folk festivals and

Concerts

The  Troubadour meets at  the CWA Hall , The Boulevarde Woy Woy across from the Wharf and Fisherman's Wharf.

We usually meet on the 4th Saturday of the month, although some dates may change due to public holidays and festivals so please check for dates of events as time gets near

We usually have a guest performer and have floor spots available for those wishing to do a couple of songs. Entry fees are applicable to Concert nights and include supper. See the Events page for more information.

As well as performance nights, membership of the club also opens opportunities to attend session nights and get  togethers where members can exchange ideas, play music and build confidence for performance or simply enjoy an atmosphere of song and music in an informal environment.   Members are encouraged to participate in the organization as well as joining in and playing music. The Troubadour members and their friends entertain at Nursing homes, fetes and other performance opportunities as they arise from time to time. We are always looking for ways to spread the joy of our music. Its an interesting way to meet new friends with a similar interest in music and gain experience by sharing.
